Al Warren was born on January 3, 1930 to William Warren and Flo Carey Warren. He was the third of five sons. His father died when Al was only 4, and he had very dim memories of him. His mother remarried in 1937 to Dr. John Ramey, who provided a stable home and a strong father figure to Al until Dr. Ramey died in 1942.
Al attended Ironton High School, in Ironton, Ohio; but ran away from home at age 16 to join the Navy. Al was a Navy firefighter, stationed first in the Philippines and then in Alaska.
During his life Al was a rodeo rider, a horse rancher, a bartender, a car salesman, and owned a restaurant with his brothers before retiring in 1999. That same year, he married the love of his life, Nancy Anthony.
Al passed away after a lengthy illness on January 10, 2010. He is survived by his devoted & loving wife, Nancy, his son Michael, his daughter Patricia and numerous grandchildren.
Towards the end of his life, Al often spoke of how he was saddened, amazed and sometimes amused that he had outlived all of his more conservative brothers. On his 80th birthday, he said that he was longing for and looking forward to being with his brothers and his mother once more; and one week later, he got his wish, passing away peacefully in his sleep.
