Floyd and his wife Leila Price Shannon owned and operated a general mercantile store in Toomsuba.
They had two children, Floyd Avery Shannon, Jr. who is buried at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Escambia County, FL and
Betty Clair Shannon Pagan Vance who is buried at Cedar Haven Cemetery (EMSH), Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS.
