ELSIE SANFORD THOMPSON, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2009. Elsie was born September 15, 1924, in Houston, Texas, to Mae Little Sanford and Nolan R. Sanford. She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1942 and married the love of her life in March 1943. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of more than fifty years, Patrick J. Thompson, Sr., and two of her sisters, Nora Del Herrington, and Alice Caviness. Elsie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Bill Oldham of Tomball; son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Joanne Thompson of Long Island, NY; brother and sister-in-law Allen and Betty Sanford of Bryan; sister, Lulan Sanford of Houston; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 9th at Calvary Funeral Home281-443-3340. Her ashes will be interned with her beloved husband at VA Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Incarnate Word Academy, 609 Crawford Street, Houston, Texas 77002, (713)227-3637.
