After living eight years in Corry, Pennsylvania, Gertrude was found dead January 1, 1931 at her residence on West Church Street. The cause of death was apoplexy. She was 27 years 4 months old leaving behind her husband and her babies: her daughter was only 1 year 8 months old and her son just over 8 months old. Gertrude's children were raised in Corry, Pennsylvania by Hattie and Benjamin Marsh, her husband's parents. Her sister, Mrs. O.
