Carrie N. Arter, 87, Baltimore Pike, Littlestown, died Friday morning at the Gettysburg Hospital.

She was the widow of Edgar L. Arter Sr., who died in 1980.

She was born near Littlestown, daughter of the late Clinton and Minnie Simpson Leppo. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Littlestown.

She issurvived by a son and two daughters, Kenneth W. Arter, Boonsboro, Md,; Arlene M. Hinton, Hattiesburg, Mass; Marian G. Crushong, at home; 23 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

Services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Littles Funeral Home, Littlestown, with her pastor the Rev. Frederick A. Diehl officating. Interment will be in Marburg Memorial Gardens, Hanover.
