ROLLYSON, Ray H., 85, of Plant City, passed away into Glory on April 27, 2004. Born September 23, 1918 in Glendon, West Virginia, Mr. Rollyson is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy (Moody); two sons, Ray Jr. and Mikel; two grandchildren, Rhett and Ryan; and one great-grandchild, Brendan. Mr. Rollyson was retired co-owner of H&R and Magnolia Pharmacies in Plant City. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Rollyson was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church. He taught Sunday School for over 50 years and in 1995 was awarded the Robert Raikes Youth Teacher of the Year Award presented by the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. He served as Chairman of the Sunshine State Federal Board of Directors from 1988-1992, and served on the board for 12 years. Mr. Rollyson served on various other local committees, and was awarded the Plant City Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award in 2000 for his service. Mr. Rollyson was an unselfish, dedicated family man who was beloved by many. His hobbies included being an avid salt-water fisherman as well as playing and watching golf. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 29, 2004 at 4 p.m. from First United Methodist Church with Dr. Alan L. Beaver officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers include Martin Rollyson, Keith Rollyson, Kenny Rollyson, Gary Cameron, Mike Cameron, Kenny Roberts, Todd Roberts, Bryan Turner and Jim Turner. Flowers will be accepted or friends can make donations to the charity of their choice.
