Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jim Heidegger received his B.B. degree from Western Illinois University.
His career spanned 23 years with the State of Florida Department of Citrus, where he served in many positions, including Merchandising Director. He has served as the Bureau Chief for Pest Eradication and Control for the Division of Plant Industry in the Florida Department of Agriculture for the last 3 years.
Mr. Heidegger was an active member of Resurrection Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Katie Downey Heidegger, Lakeland, teenage children Kenny and Rachel Heidegger, and father and mother, Kenneth and Barbara Heidegger, Orland Park, Illinois.
Visitation will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church, 3720 Old Road 37, Lakeland, FL on Friday, January 8 from 5pm until 7 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Catholic Church on Saturday, January 9, at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
