Corbin was in the Tobacco business and became a leader in the trade. He had a large fortune when the Civil War came along and swept it all away. The war also took his two oldest sons with it. He lived at 511 East Grace Street in Richmond, Virginia. He was considered by all to be an upright, kind,
generous, and true Virginia Gentleman. The whole family, including the children, are buried in the Hollywood Cemetery at Richmond.
