Mildred Earlene Joiner Dickerson, age 83, of Pascagoula passed away on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010 at her home. She was born March 27, 1926 in Meridian, MS and has been a long time resident of Pascagoula. She was an employee of Brumfields Department Store in Pascagoula for 33 years and was the owner of Headhunters Alteration Shop or 13 years. She was a member of Wade Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Oscar T. Dickerson of Virginia; two grandsons, Ricky Sudduth and Jarrett Griffis; brother, Willard Joiner; sister, Claudine Goss.
She is survived by her two daughters and one son, Sylvia Haines (George); Judy Branning (Larry),and Jerry Dickerson ; two sisters and one brother, Nell Dulaney, Pearline Redd and Donald Joiner; three grandchildren, Regina Riser (Mike), Richard Sudduth and Dereck Griffis; five great-grandchildren, Gene Cossey, Meagan Riser, Ricky Sudduth, Maggie Griffis, and Azriel Griffis. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, 12:00-2:00pm, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Richard Landcaster and Rev. Bill Spruell officiating. Interment will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS. In Lieu of flowers, a loving offering may be made to Home of Grace.
