Mrs Gum died Saturday morning at her home near West Plains. She was born March 6, 1926 in West Plains, the daughter of the late Charly Amos and Lettie May Cherry Bailey.
She received her education in the schools of West Plains and attended West Plains High School. She had been of the christian faith and had attended the First Christian Church of West Plains for many years.
She was married in 1940 in West Plains to Edgar C. Briscoe. In the late 1950's she was married in Canton, Ohio to Richard Fisher Gum who preceded her in death on October 24, 1962.
Survivors include one sister, Ruby Driscoll, West Plains; two aunts, Edna Covington, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Dean McLaine, Anderson, Indiana, and several cousins.
Mrs Gum is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Gum, and two brothers.
Honarary pallbearers were J.D. Collins, Claude Robertson, and Wayne Scharnhorst. Active pallbearers were Wayne Yeager, Ben Hardcastle, Jim Brown, Carl McLaine, Jim Amyx and Coy Driscoll.
