Rev. J.L. Pyle Dead.

We regret to learn of the sudden death of Rev. J.L. Pyle at Vernon on Mardh [sic] 3. He was taken with pnemania [sic] while at his nephew, Dick Pyle, and being old and not having a very stout constitution succumbed in a few days to its ravages. His children were most all in attendance at his bedside when the death angle [sic] claimed its reward.

The remains were brought to Newlin where they were tenderly laid to rest beside his wife who had passed on before him to that peaceful home above.

Rev. Pyle was an old pioneer, having come to this country about a score of years ago and numbered his friends by his acquaintances, all of whom will join the Democrat in extending heartfelt sympathya [sic] to the sorrowing relatives left behind. The noble character of this good man and the kindly deeds he has done will be a shining mark in the minds and hearts of all Memphis and other sections for many years to come.
