AGED WOMAN LEAVES 135
DESCENDANTS AT DEATH
Hold Funeral Services for Mrs. Elizabeth Rieber Monday
One of the city's oldest inhabitants was called by death yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Rieber, who was in the ninth-first year of her life. The aged woman leaves 135 descendants to mourn her death. Her death was caused by a short illness of nephritis.
Mrs. Rieber was taken ill about a month ago. Up to that time she was as hale and hearty as any of her children and did all her own housework, refusing any aid on the part of her family. Mrs. Rieber celebrated her ninety-first birthday with a reunion at Weber's hall last Oct. 30, at which over 100 members of her family attended. She had been a resident of Evansville 68 years and leaves ten children, Jacob, Mrs. Louise Keller, Mrs. Kate Stucker, John, Anton, David, Simon, Henry and Mrs. Rose Fritsch, of Hartford, Ky [sic; should be CT].
Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 7:30 o'clock at her home, 310 East Virginia street, and at 8 o'clock at St. Anthony's church. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.
