Jess Elgin, son of Fredrick Elgin and America Bowles Elgin, died at the home at Walnut Street this morning at 2 o'clock from complications. He had been practically an invalid for a number of years.
He was born in 'Christian County Sept. 9, 1880 and was reared in the county.
The last position Mr. Elgin held was with the Kentucky Highway Department. Previous to that he was employed by the Louisville & Nashville Railway Company for a number of years.
Mr. Elgin was a devout member of the Christian Church.
The survivors are his wife and two sons, Douglas Elgin and Edwin Elgin, both of Chicago.
The funeral services will be conducted at the Harton Funeral Home Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock, the Rev. Charles L Stephenson, pastor of the Ninth Street Christian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside.
