James L. Waddell, one of the county's oldest citizens, died at his home near Tuscumbia Tuesday evening. He was eighty six years old at the time of his death, having lived at Tuscumbia of near vicinity for the past eighty one years.
When a young man he was married to Martha DeGraffenreid, to which union five children were born, all of whom survive. His wife died a number of years ago, after which he was married to Mrs. Louisa Mitchell, who survives.
The children, C.E. Waddell of Atlanta, Georgia, A.F. of Versailles, L.O. of Guthrie, Oklahoma, W.E. of Belle, Mo., and Mrs. E.B. (Emma) Hunter of Eldon, were present with the exception of L.O.
Funeral services were held at the Christian Church in Tuscumbia by the Rev. Sons, and interment was made in the Tuscumbia cemetery.
