Jeanette, my younger/baby sister, always went by her middle name since childhood rather her first name Cherie. Jeanette was third born of three children of Roy Simpson Jackson Jr. and Iva Ruth Johnson. Jeanette was born at Fort McPherson near East Point in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.
Jeanette married Lynn Tyre Whitlock Sr. on May 2, 1970 in Smyrna, Cobb Co., Georgia. They were married about 25 years when divorced in 1995.
Jeanette and Lynn had three children between them. First born was Katrina Loraine "Lori" Whitlock born in 1970 and died at childbirth, second born was Lynn Tyre "Ty" Whitlock Jr. born in 1977, third born was Tamara Cherie "Tami" Whitlock born 1982 and died at childbirth.

Cherie Jeanette Whitlock, age 59, of Smyrna, Georgia died Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 29, 2009 in the Castellaw Funeral Home Jonquil Chapel with Rev. Ledie Conger officiating. Burial will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, GA.
Survivors include son Lynn Tyre Whitlock, Jr. and daughter-in-law Jennifer of Adairsville, GA; sister Linda M. Sagaert of Smyrna, GA; sister Gigi M. Jackson of Grand Prairie, TX; and grandson Connor Whitlock.
Cherie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodstock, GA; an Eastern Star and Medical Assistant for Kaiser.
