Michael P. Barbus, 80, New Florence, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at home. He was born March 12, 1926, in Climax, the son of the late John and Mary Litesky Barbus.

Mr. Barbus was a retired employee of Florence Mining Co. and a former West Wheatfield Township supervisor for 25 years.

He was a member of Germany United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a charter member of Duane Boring V.F.W. Post 9310, Robinson.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Della Boring Barbus; sons, Michael W., Tavernier, Fla.; and Harry, Laughlintown; a grandson, Michael B., married to Jennifer Mack, Vintondale; a great-granddaughter, Pyper Jai;

And the following siblings: Agnes Hall, Robinson; Andy, Ligonier; Susie Flickinger, New Florence; Vernie Nixon, Leonard and Pete, and Annie Lear, all of Robinson; Theresa Robertson, New Florence.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers John, Frank and Joseph and sister Helen Mulligan.

Friends were received Saturday and Sunday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence. A funeral service was held Monday at Germany United Methodist Church, with the Rev. R. Kenneth Keiper officiating.

Interment was in Germany Lutheran Cemetery. Military rites were performed by a local veteran organization.
