Pierce E. Beaver, 54, of Mount Vernon Terrace, died at 11:45 a. m. Saturday at the Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. He suffered his first attack May 1959, in Pittsburgh where he was manager of the Landis Tool Co. Pittsburgh office. In April 1961, while in Chicago, he again suffered an attack and was confined to the hospital for a month. He returned to Waynesboro in December in 1960 as sales engineer and on Jan. 30, 1962 was admitted to the Washington County Hospital after suffering a heart attack the previous day. He was showing improvement and death came suddenly. He was born at Waynesboro, the
son of J. Gross and Drucie (King) Beavfr. He was a graduate of Waynesboro High School, class of 1925. After his graduation he was employed by the Landis Tool Co., and took the sales course. He first went to Chicago In 1938, he went to Europe where he represented Landis Tool Co. for several years. He then returned to Chicago, later being transferred to the Cleveland territory as manager. In 1959 he was named manager of the Pittsburgh office. Mr. Beaver was a former member of the Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, Waynesboro Lodge IOOF and Latco Foremen's Club.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Powers Beaver; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Howard J. Sweeney, Chicago; six grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Nina Weight, Middletown, N.Y. : Mrs. Julia Yingling, Harrisburg; Mrs.
Mary Ellenberger, Lancaster, and Mrs, Martha Tuen, Long Beach, Calif.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Grove Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. J. Daniel Stover. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery.
