Leo D. LaForce, 62, of 17 North Champlain St., died at a local hospital yesterday after a brief illness. He was born in Charlotte on May 22, 1895, son of the late Paul and Emma LaForce. Mr. LaForce was a prominent area bowler. Known as "Pappy", he won several trophies and participated in local, state and national tournaments. He was also proficient in ten-pin bowling. Mr. LaForce was the proprietor of a restaurant, which he operated for 16 years on Pearl and North streets. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Eagles Club and one of the stars in their bowling teams. He also belonged to the Lake side Boat Club. He is survived by his wife Genevieve (Phillips) LaForce; one son, Leo C. LaForce, of Burlington; grandchildren, Claire, Larry, Eileen, and June, all of Burlington; one brother, Floyd, of Burlington; four sisters, Mrs. Kenneth Godette, Jewitt City, Conn., Mrs. Gladys Ashline, St. Albans, Mrs. Ernest Pariseau and Mrs. Beatrice Bacon, both of Burlington. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Until the time of the funeral the body will remain at the Ready Funeral Home, 71 Cherry St.
