Edson M. Palmer, son of David and Sarah Palmer was born June 3, 1876 in Onadage (sic) County, Mandana, New York, and departed this life in Marysville Hospital, Marysville, Kansas, Octoboer 30, 1954, at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 27 days. At the age of 6 months he moved with his parents to Wilbur, Nebraska.

His boyhood days were spent near DeWitt, Nebraska. The year of 1894 he moved northwest of Chester in which vicinity he spent many years farming, upon retirement he moved to Marysville, Kansas, in 1939.

He was united in marriage to Lola Mae Holmes, November 15, 1899.

To this union 11 children were born, three preceded him in death, two in infancy and in 1936, a son, Marion.

He was a devoted home loving, faithful, Christian husband, father and grandfather, his greatest interest being his home and family, never complaining of his own trials and troubles, but always willing and ready to help others in need.

He attained much enjoyment from his children and grandchildren and many friends.

Besides rearing his own family he took Marion's son, Duane to raise.

As a young boy he united with the Presbyterian Church in Stoddard, Nebraska, later transferred to the Christian Church.

The past year his activity has been limited due to failing health.

He is survived by his wife, Lola Mae of Marysville, two sons, Clarence of Diller, Nebraska, Clifford of DeSmet, South Dakota; six daughters, Mildred Swaney of Hebron, Nebraska, Nellie Throm and Viola Throm of Marysville, Kansas, Delcie Nitcher of Lyle, Minnesota, Ruthe Ollette of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Grayce Sterba of Wichita, Kansas; two sisters, Edna DeWitt of Syracuse, New York, and Eleanor Jones of Schenecady, New York; two brothers, Frank of Norton, Kansas and Silas of Port Angeles, Washington.
