Carl was a real Old Western Cowboy. Never saw a horse he didn't like nor one he couldn't sell. LOL

Carl Holt, 86
Carl E. HOLT of Whitehall died Saturday in a Sheridan nursing home.
Carl was born Aug. 31, 1918, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to W. D. "Pat" and Fern HOLT, and grew up in Pinedale, Wyo.
From an early age, Carl was a true horseman and entrepreneur. His jobs as a boy included roping and selling wild horses, gathering horses off Bureau of Land Management land, horse breeding and ranching in Ennis, White Sulphur Springs and Deer Lodge. Carl loved horse sales and rodeos. He won his last team roping buckle at age 76, and just stepped down from the saddle two years ago.
On July 4, 1940, he married Virginia BAHL, who came west from Iowa to visit relatives and found herself a real cowboy.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son-in-law, Buzz DAVIS; and sister-in-law, Alice HOLT.
Survivors include daughter, Carlene Davis, Dillon; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Colleen Holt, Whitehall; brother, Earl Holt, Ennis; and grandchildren, Chase and Cotton Holt, Whitehall, and Cinda TARASCHI, Belgrade.
