My father Rufus Branndon "Bud" Archer born Mabnolia, Ark. 1874. Some years after the civil war, R. L. sold his plantation and brought land at Jordon Spring, later moving to Byrds Store in Brown Co., Tx. In 1880 Census, Blanket, Brown Co., Tx. R. L. Archer (42) born 1838 Ala. was farming and suffering from lung diease. Wife: R. A. age 43, born Georgia in bed with child, confined to bed, Children: R.M. (dau)13, A.L.(dau)11, with chills, J.E.(son)10, L.E.(son)7, R.B. (son)6, G.V. (son)3, & not named (dau)1 yr born May, & later T.E.
Childen from Coleman County History book: Ann, John, Emma, Lizzie, George, Birdie, & Rufus B. On tax ro;; paing taxes 1882 to 1889. Apparantly died somewhere between that time.
