Isidra M. Serrano, 63, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009, in a San Angelo hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church with burial in the Abilene Municipal Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Mrs. Serrano was born on May 15, 1946, in Acuna, Mexico to Juan and Juanita Martinez. She lived in Abilene most of her life. She was employed as a housekeeper for the Chisholm House before her retirement. Survivors include her sons, Manuel Zamudio of Rock Springs, Texas, Julian Zamudio, Daniel Zamudio, Jorge Santos and Luis Serrano, all of Abilene; her daughters, Sylvia Gonzalez, Mary Jane Zamudio and Luisa Serrano, all of Abilene; six brothers, Rudy Martinez of Mexico, Ruben Martinez of Bryan, Texas, Alfred, Joe, Robert and Juan Martinez, Jr., all of Abilene; four sisters, Velma Bynum of San Angelo, Gloria Vasquez of Austin, Maria Gomez and Rose Mary Martinez, both of Abilene; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. Mrs. Serrano was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Rudy Zamudio and a great grandson, Rudy Casarez. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Aunt Velma for caring for their mom and also to Dr. Demorey, Dr. Burger, the Dialysis Clinic and the Wound Clinic, all of San Angelo. Also, a special thanks to her special friend, Beth Farmers of Baird.
