Mrs. Clingman, 79, Succumbs Saturday

Mrs. Emma Jane Clingman, 79 years of age, died at 12:45 Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Flem Burton, living 5 miles southwest of this city. Death was caused by complications. Mrs. Clingman had been ill since January 13.

The deceased was the daughter of Absolam and Nancy Miller Brown and was born November 4, 1862 in Rush County, where she lived all her life. Mrs. Clingman was married January 19, 1882, to John Thomas Clingman, who died November 12, 1931. Her home was in Homer, but since her illness, she had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Burton.

Survivors include two children, Mrs. Cora Burton and Mrs. Nellie Abernathy, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Mrs. Clingman was a member of the Christian Union church at Homer, where the funeral will be at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. W. B. Jenkins, pastor of the Christian Union church, and the Rev. Virgil Miller. Interment will be in Hurst cemetery near Homer.

Friends may call any time after 10 o’clock Sunday morning at the home of Mrs. Burton.
