Mrs. Roy (Allene Perryman) Zeigler, a lifelong resident of Coryell County, died Jan. 29 at her home, 404 Park Street, in Gatesville. She was 76 and her death was attributed to heart ailment.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Curtis Beaird. Burial was in Restland Cemetery with Scott's in charge.
Mrs. Zeigler was a member of a pioneer Coryell County family. She was born Nov. 12, 1903, in the Arnett community and was the daughter of the late Tom and Dona Perryman. She was reared at Arnett.
She was married to Roy Zeigler, a farmer, on Nov. 1, 1923, and they resided in the Mountain community for eight years before moving back to Arnett. In 1956 they moved to Gatesville. Mr. Zeigler died here in 1958.
Mrs. Zeigler had operated Irene's Dress Shop in Gatesville since 1956. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Carol D. Zeigler of Bryan and Charles R. Zeigler of Gatesville; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Clark of South Charleston, W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Irene Adams of Gatesville; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Zeigler's funeral were Cleburne McCarver, Cam McGilvray, Belvin Hardcastle, F. W. (Jack) Straw, John F. Post and Jerry Giebler.
