Clara May Watkins, 100, of Gatesville died Oct. 26 at her residence.
Services were held Oct. 28 at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rex Tilly officiating.
Burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Born May 25, 1887 in Grapeland, she was the daughter of the late Scott and Martha Yarbrough. She was raised and attended school in Houston County.
In her early years, she taught school in Houston County.
She married Charles Watkins June 15, 1910 in Elkhart. They resided in East Texas for many years. They moved to Gatesville in 1966 from Melvin. Mr. Watkins died Sept. 5, 1972.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She was also a member of the Eastern Star since 1934, making her a 50-year member.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Cawthon (Kathleen) Williams of Gatesville, Mrs. Frank (Eva Rob) Adams of San Antonio and Mrs. Horace (Marguerite) Cantrell of Gatesville; one sister, Miss Audrey Yarbrough of Fort Worth and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Jim Williams, Bobby Adams, Tom Chumney, Ben Hancock, Jack Straw and Dawson Cooper.
