Carmen Alicia Sanchez, 49, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25, 2007, with her family at her side. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Thomas Manimala officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Mrs. Sanchez was born November 23, 1958, in Abilene to Manuel and Emma Herrera. She married Daniel Sanchez on July 13, 1993, in Abilene. Survivors include her husband, Daniel Sanchez of Abilene; a daughter, Samantha Sanchez of Abilene; three brothers, Luis Herrera, Sr. and wife, Antonia, Ramero Herrera and wife, Janie and Cecilio Herrera and wife, Rosa, all of Abilene; six sisters, Lidia Ribera and companion, Ramon Rodriguez, Francis Sanchez, Manuela Luna and husband, Floribeto, Irene Hutton and husband, Richard, Marenda Vasquez and husband, Robert, Rosemary Ybarra and companion, Sunny DeLaCruz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sanchez was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Ann Perez.
