__Marietta J. Hamilton, 78, a resident of Living Center West, Cedar Rapids, died there Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009, after a lengthy illness. Services: noon Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral & Cremation Service, where the family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to service time. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
__Survivors include her husband, Glenn; her children, Sheryl (Ron) Brendengen and Kent (Terri Avelar) Hamilton; and three grandchildren, Hayley, Shannon and Alyssa.
__She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Velda.
__Marietta was born June 10, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa. A 1950 graduate from Manchester High School, she married Glenn Hamilton at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Sept. 4, 1954. Marietta worked as a key punch operator for Allis Chalmers, Collins and the railroad. She enjoyed playing cards and taking trips out of the house.
__Marietta dealt with multiple sclerosis for over 40 years and the family would like to give a special thank you to all the neighbors and caregivers who helped our family over the years with Marietta.
