Mr. Edwards was reared and confirmed in the church (sic) of England in his boyhood and remained a steadfast member throughout his life.
As a young man he came to the United States, stopping first at Springfield, O., later coming to Nemaha (county), Neb., where he married Isoria Ann Kelly on January 4, 1889.
Mr. Edwards and the late John Gwynn engaged in business and farming at Auburn. In 1892 he brought a farm southwest of Chester in Republic county (sic) and moved on to it, where they lived until retiring from farm work and moved to their present home in Chester in 1909.
Mrs. Edwards died in 1940 after more than 50 years of a happy wedded life.
He left to mourn his passing, two sons, Guy Edwards of Otis, Colo., and John S. Edwards of Chester, and one daughter, Mrs. Guy Goodger of Belleville; and seven grandchildren, Kermit, Kenneth, and Virgie Goodger of Washington, D.C., Donald Goodger of Belleville, Lennie Edwards of Ft. Knox, Ky., Clifford and Virgil Edwards of Otis, Colo.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 12, at the home conducted by the Rev. E.R. Peterson. Interment was beside his wife in the Chester cemetery (sic).
