MERRILLVILLE, IN

Charles "Chuck" Remenius, age 85 of Merrillville, passed away on Wednesday December 30, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; son, Charles K. (Karen) Remenius of Crown Point, IN; two grandsons: Ryan (Dee) Remenius and Jeffery (Jennifer) Remenius both of Crown Point; two great grandchildren: Alyssa and Lucas Remenius; brother, Ernie (Fran) Remenius of Monticello, IN; sister, Violet Adinolfi of Hobart; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents: Joseph and Anna Remenius; sister, Anna Baker; and three brothers: Joseph, John and August Remenius.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5885 Harrison Street, Merrillville, IN with Rev. Roy Beeching officiating.
Interment to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family at Geisen Funeral Home, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN on Monday, January 4, 2010 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday morning DIRECTLY at the church from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 10:00 AM. Wake service 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Remenius retired from U.S. Steel Gary Sheet & Tin Mill and was a member of USW Local #1066. He was a WWII Navy veteran and belonged to the American Legion Post 270. Chuck was also a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, where he ushered the 9:00 AM Sunday Mass for many years.
