Hilliker.

The Hall County Herald, published at Memphis, Tex., comes to hand with an account of the death of John S. Hilliker, which occurred Feb. 25 at that place.

Mr. Hilliker was a long-time resident of Davenport. He was born in Sullivan county, N.Y., July 2, 1819, and was therefore in his 85th year. He had been very weak for some time and his death was known to be close at hand. He came to Iowa in 1856 and lived here many years going to Texas, to visit a daughter, Mrs. D.H. Arnold, a few months ago. His wife and two children survive, the other child being H.V. Hilliker, a former Davenport boy, now assistant superintendent of the Union Pacific railway, at Evanston, Wyo.

Mr. Hilliker, for some years a resident of this city, died at Memphis, Texas, on February 25. The deceased was 85 years of age and lived in this city for some years previous to the time of going to Texas to live with his daughter.
