Resident of Llano County Comes Here for Treatment, but Too Late - It Was His Birthday ... Austin, Travis County, Texas

June 1, 1911

Thomas J. Moore, a wealthy resident of Llano County, died on the sixty-fourth anniversary of his birth yesterday afternoon at 1o'clock. The illness which finally caused his death had been keeping him in poor health for a period of two years, becoming so serious that he finally came to Austin Tuesday with his physician for treatment in a local hospital, but it was too late.

Colonel Moore was a prominent banker and stockman of Llano County, where he had made his fortune. He is survived by his wife, who was with him, and his daughter, who arrived yesterday afternoon. For thirty-eight years he had been in the cattle business in the Llano country and had one of the large ranches of the place. He was rated as one of the richest stockmen in Central Texas.

The body will be taken to Llano on the 7:30 o'clock Houston and Texas Central this morning, where the funeral will take place, but at just what hour is not yet certain.
