Abner Clark Lacock, 79, well-known Washington businessman and descendant of a pioneer Ten Mile family, died at 1:18 a.m. Wednesday, January 21, 1953 in Washington Hospital after an illness of several months.

Mr. Lacock was stricken in Grantsville, Md., early in October, 1952, and on Oct. 27 was removed from the Myersdale (Pa.) Community Hospital to the Washington Hospital.

A son of the lake Isaac Clark and Catherine Bell Lacock, the deceased was born Nov. 26, 1873 on the family homestead at Ten Mile. He was of Scotch-Irish descent.

Educated in the primary schools of Amwell Township, Washington County, Mr. Lacock was graduated from the now defunct Monongahela College at Jefferson and Duff's Iron City Business College, Pittsburgh. After teaching school for several terms in Amwell Township, he moved to San Francisco, Calif., in May 1903, where he engaged in business.

After the historic earthquake and fire in San Francisco in 1906 he returned to Washington County and took over management of the family farm. He later engaged in the garage business in Washington for many years.

Surviving are two sons, Maynard Clark Lacock and R. Voy Lacock, both of Ten Mile, and a number of other relatives in Greene and Washington Counties and in Iowa and California.
