William Gene Sweem was one of those people who was always optimistic about everything! He loved life and his family. He was born in Aberdeen Washington at home. His Grandmother Goings was in attendance. He was called Bill by everyone. Bill grew up in Tacoma, Washington. Bill was the oldest of five children. Bill was 6 feet tall, dark hair, brown eyes, and handsome. He was the typical teenager of the fifties, duck tail hair, baggie jeans and cars. He joined the Air Force and served his country. He was stationed in New Mexico when he met the love of his life. Marcella Arnijo and Bill met at a dance. It was instant love and there was no looking back! In all of their years together they were inseparable. Bill and Marcy have five children and numerous Grandchildren and Greats! All of these children have stayed close to their parents and that is a testament to how loved Bill was.
After Williams service in the Air Force, he and Marcy moved to Tacoma Washington to be near Williams family. They made frequent trips to New Mexico and stayed close to Marcy's family as well. William made his living as a carpenter. He eventually had his own business. When Bill was in his 50's he started having heart problems. He underwent a quadruple bi-pass and lived several more years, until his heart just could not keep up.
William was a great outdoors-men. He hunted and fished and all of his children went with he and Marcy. They camped all the time.
Bill also loved to dance. He and Marcy even won a dance contest! He made everyone laugh and smile.
It is hard to except that he is gone, but, we must.
