Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Barnhart) Barlup, aged 82 years, widow of B. R. Barlup, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at her home, Waynesboro Route 2. She had been in failing health for several years and was critically ill the last two weeks.
She was born near Boonsboro, MD., the daughter of Samuel and Mary Jane (Ford) Barnhart and most of her life was lived in the Waynesboro vicinity. Mr and Mrs. Barlup were married 29 years ago and he died in 1933. She was a member of Jacob's Lutheran Church near Leitersburg.
Surviving are a son and daughter by a former marriage: Burr B. Beard and Mrs. Owen Shank, Waynesboro Route 3; four stepsons, L. M. Barlup, Waynesboror Route 2; Clarence A. Barlup, Waynesboro Route 3; Homer R. Barlup, Waynesboro Route 3 and Hugh T. Barlup, Zullinger; ten grandchildren; one brother Charles E. Barnhart, Waynesboro Route 2 and half brother, David W. Beaver, Greencastle Route 3.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Grove funeral hone in charge of the Rev. L.D. Worman. Burial will be made in Green Hill cemetery. Friends may call from 7 until 0 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
