Services for Mrs. Annie Lorena James of 2271 Golden will be at 2 this afternoon at National Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Gardens with Spencer-Sturla Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. James, who was 86, died at 6 p.m. Saturday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Lawrence Wickham of the Golden address, where she had lived since becoming ill five months ago.
Born in Arkansas Port, Ark., Mrs. James had lived most her life in Arkansas City, Ark. Her husband the late George E. James, who died 21 years ago, was the former mayor of Arkansas City and owned an ice plant there.
She moved to Memphis in 1926, but had spent some time with her son, George V James of Ackerman, Miss. She was a member of National Avenue Church.
She also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Sam J Holt of 1149 National; another son Joe C James of 1420 National; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
