William C. Baker, aged 75 years, died Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home, 134 Cleveland Avenue. He had been in failing health since January 15 and confined to his bed for the last five weeks. He was born at Burnt Cabins, Fulton County, the son of Augustus & Barbara Ann Brown Baker. His early life was lived in Adams County and following their marriage, the Bakers lived at McKeesport for a short time. For 16 years they resided in Zullinger. They live in Waynesboro for the last 25 years. He was first emploed at the Geiser shops and for the last 20 years had been employed at the Landis Tool Company. Surviving are his wife, Ida L. Butler Baker, and a daughter, Mrs. Howard Greenawalt, Waynesboro, two grandsons, a brother, Calvin, Fayetteville, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Staley, Waynesboro, also survive. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
