Kassandra Lou "Kassy" Kerfoot, 18, of Meridian, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at a Boise hospital, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Kassandra was born on April 24, 1991 in Nampa, Idaho. She was a 2009 graduate of Meridian High School and attended the College of Western Idaho. Our dearest Kassy, you came into this world into the open arms of your mom and dad and family. You were our little stargazer. You left this world into the open arms of your Savior and Father. When you see us again, welcome us with open arms our dear, sweet baby. You were such a wild fire! You blew out too fast. When you walked into a room the world lit up. People wanted to be near you—they wanted to be a part of your life. You were such a free spirit. Full of life and love. Full of teasing and laughter. Our Kassy loved music, all kinds of music. Country, rap, rock, head-banging awful stuff and beautiful melodies. And Kassy loved to tease. Her nieces and nephews would complain that she wasn't the boss of them; but the next moment they would be sitting in her lap for story time and lot of hugs and kisses. Her sisters taught her the finer art of teasing to include how to give superior wedgies. She so loved colors, gorgeous colors. The wilder the better. When you think of her, think of her this way. Think of her joy, her love and her passion for life. Kassy so loved her family. Her mom was her hero and her dad was her rock and her sisters and brother were her best friends. Had we known that your Father would call you home so soon, we would have held you one more time. We would have kissed you one more time. Had we known, we would have said, "I love you" just one more time. Had we known, we would have told you one more time about our Father's love. Those of the family that went before her surround her now: her uncle Mike Smith, her cousin Christopher Smith and her grandfather Lew Kerfoot. She leaves behind her father, Kevin Kerfoot; her mother Liz Catherman, and stepfather Gus Catherman; three sisters, Amanda Holm and husband Todd, Justine Medley and husband Travis, Whitney Duke and husband Tyler; one brother Matthew Kerfoot; her grandparents, Reva Kerfoot, and Ida and Glenn Smith; her aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and her boyfriend Vin who was the true love of her life, all of whom are now missing her spirit and her light. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Meridian United Methodist Church, 240 E. Idaho in Meridian. The family requests that you take a moment and write a note about how Kassy was a part of your life and place it in the pink and white heart-shaped box near the book of remembrance. Please honor her spirit and wear bright and vibrant colors to celebrate her life should choose to attend the services. Please visit Kassy's online guestbook at www.chapel-of-the-chimes.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 105 E. Carlton Ave. Meridian, ID 83642; 888-4454.
