He was born April 18, 1914, in Wichita, and moved to Liberal with his parents when he was in his early teens. He graduated from Liberal high school. He was married to Mary Over of Liberal and they lived here a few years until moving to Albuquerque.
He was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and was a member of the United Methodist church of Albuquerque.
Survivors besides his parents are one son, Langley Ray Jones of Tulsa, Okla.; one daughter, Mrs. Lo (Jo) Lynn Doolittle of Albuquerque; two sisters, Mrs. Verene Swenson of Waukesha, Wisc., and Mrs. Carl (Nell) Lee of Wichita; and aunt, Mrs. Myrtle Harsh, who is his mother's twin sister, of 730 North Washington, Liberal; and five (3) grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday from the Strong-Thorne Mortuary in Albuquerque and burial will be in a cemetery there.
