Most likely born as Polly Foster daughter of Elnathan Foster and Thankful Hammond. She would have had a twin brother Elnathan Pope Foster. See: https://archive.org/details/vitalrecordsofro01roch_0/page/n261 .

In Lancaster, in this county, on the 22d ult, Mrs. Thankful H. wife of Mr. James Bennett Mrs. Bennett was born in Rochester, Mass., August, 1787, and consequently was 60 years of age at the time of her death. At an early age, she removed with her father Mr. Elnathan Foster, to Hartford, Washington Co. N. Y, When about 17 years of age, she was happily converted and united with the Congregational church in that place, then under the pastoral care of Rev. Ralph Robinson. Subsequently, she removed to Rupert, Vt, when in -1818, she was married to Mr. James Bennett, and for several years resided in Pawlet, Vl, and became with her husband, connected with the Congregational church under the pastoral care of Rev. John GriswulJ. In 1825, she removed to Western New York, and resided in the towa of Amherst, now Cheektawaga, until 1820, when she with ber husbaud, came to reside in this city. She soon con nected hereelf with the rirst Presbyterian church under the ministry of Rev. Sylves ter ?haton, and of which, she was a member at the time of her death.
