Called "Davis" by most. Known as "The Gentle Giant." Davis was well known and liked in the City of East Point. His kindness and generosity were renowned even though he was wrongly misunderstood by some. He was considered by most as "Slow" but that was far from the truth. Davis had a photographic memory and could remember every single detail of the things he learned and experienced.

As a child and young adult, he would sit on his porch on Elizabeth Lane in the East Point Colonial Hills neighborhood and amaze people with his ability to listen to the distant trains and be able to identify each train by the grind of the wheel, which engineer by the way he laid on the horn, where it was going and what time it was set to arrive (and he was always right!) He was employed at the Armstrong Smith Paint Company of East Point for many years and is remembered as a very hard worker. He was also a long time member of the East Point Historical Society and sat on the Board of Directors of the Hillcrest Cemetery Memorial Association.

He was cremated and his ashes scattered on the family plot where his stone is present. His ashes were scattered by his friends from the East Point Historical Society and the Hillcrest Cemetery Memorial Association.
