Charles R. Lane, 77, of Springfield, died Friday at Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Equality, the son of Roger and Gertrude Trusty Lane. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the United Mine Workers of America, the Tyrian Lodge AF & AM, the Springfield Consistory, Ansar Shrine, and World War II VFW Barracks 185.
Surviving are his wife Hannah; two sons, George R. Lane and Harry Holcomb; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Glatz, Mrs. Margariette Foster and Mrs. Leota Tendick; 15 grandchildren.
Services at Ellinger-Kunz & Davis Funeral Home with burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
