DEATHS

Died in Spring Creek township on Thursday, November 10, after an illness of only nine days with pneumonia fever, Mrs. Sarah Adams, the wife of Gilbert Adams, aged 50 years, two months and one day.

Mrs. Adam's maiden name was Jefferies; she was a native of Cole County, Illinois. Her firs husband's name was Thomas Miller, by whom she leaves five children, two sons and three daughters. She also leaves one daughter by her present husband. All of whom were present with the exception of one son. She was a member of the M.P Church. Was a living stone in the Sunday School; a messenger of comfort and gladness to the sick. Her work is done, she has gone to gather her trophies and reap her reward.

Her remains were laid to rest in the Ava Cemetery after the usual services were held at the home and also at the grave. Surely none but the wicked can say "it is a vain thing to serve God."Sarah Elizabeth JEFFERS born 15 Sep 1849 in Illinois and died 16 Oct 1889 in Ava, Douglas, Missouri. She married Gilbert Thomas had died and she had 5 children she brought to the Adams marriage, along with her sister's two children and the two she had by Gilbert.
She was marriaged on January 3, 1883 in Pana, Illinois to Gilbert Oregon ADAMS b: 26 Nov 1849 in Newton, Jasper, Illinois
