Rubena Brandon Biddix, 83, of Fourth Street, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Asheville Health Care Center. A native of Black Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Harley and Mildred Ratcliff Brandon and wife of the late James W. "Bill" Biddix, who died in 1960, and the mother of the late Judy Biddix, who died in 1941. She was a member of Swannanoa Heights Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and went home to be with the Lord.

She is survived by daughters, Gary Bridges and her husband Bill of Swannanoa and Joann Plemmons and her husband Bill of Gastonia; son, William "Buddy" Biddix of Black Mountain; sister, Frances Brandon Turner of Black Mountain; grandchildren, Ronnie Bridges and his wife Lori and Becky Eggers; and great-grandchildren, Jordan Bridges and Kelsey Bridges.

The funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Brigman's Funeral Service in Black Mountain with the Rev. R. P. Boyle officiating.

Burial will be at Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
