Walter Clayton Thomasson, Sr., 75, died suddenly at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at his home on Carroll Drive in Gatesville.
His dealh was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Scott's Funeral Home chapel with Rev. G. L. Derrick officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery.
Mr. Thomasson was a retired carpenter.
He was born in Milam County June 30, 1896, and was married to Miss Lola Mae Chapman Aug. 14, 1915. They came to Coryell County in 1919.
They lived in Galveston from 1943 to 1967, when they returned to Gatesville.
Mr. Thomasson was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Walter C. Thomasson, Jr. of Texas City, Thurbar O'Neal Thomasson of Red Oak, Delmon L. Thomasson of Oceanside, Calif., and Terry Eugene Thomasson of Pasadena; four daughters, Mrs. Cordelia Gertrude Brown of San Angelo, Mrs. Zoridada Wauneitha Baeurele of Hitchcock, Mrs. Thala Dorithia Poe of Key Biscayne, Fla., and Mrs. Sarah Coleman of Galveston; eight sisters, Mrs. Mary Idella Kinkaid of Gatesville, Mrs. Etta Mae Crowson of Lueders, Mrs. Pauline Hicks of Missouri, Mrs. Irene Bigham of Mineral Wells, Mrs. Othelia McClendon of Lueders, and Mrs. Johnnie Ratliff, Mrs. Sallie Bodine and Mrs. Gladys Schue, all of California; two brothers, Alvin Thomasson of Pecos and Wendell Thomasson of Lueders; 31 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
