An Obituary from Gatesville Messenger & Star Forum," Thursday, December 20, 1979:

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Willie Parks, 79, of Gatesville were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel. Rev. Curtis Beaird conducted the rites, and burial was in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Parks, a resident of the Gatesville area most of her life, died Sunday in the local hospital.
Daughter of the late Ab and Sarah Davis, she was born June 6, 1900, at Levita and was reared in that community.
She was married to Mack Parks in Gatesville on Dec. 2, 1925, and they resided here until 1940, when they moved to Edinburg. Mr. Parks died in 1958.
Mrs. Parks returned to Gatesville in 1968, and had made her home here since.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Her son, Glenn Parks, died in 1977.
Mrs. Parks is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Nina Donaldson of Dallas and Mrs. Bessie Anderson and Mrs. Effie Whisenhunt, both of Gatesville; a granddaughter, Miss Elizabeth Parks of Dallas; and a grandson, Mack Parks of Donna.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Parks' funeral were Mack Anderson, Belvin Hardcastlc, Dewey Jones. Wesley Whisenhunt, L. J. Autry, J. B. Anderson, George Donaldson and Harold Whisenhunt.
