Mrs. M. Feile, 75, Dies Wednesday
The death of Mrs. Mathias Feile, 75, occurred Wednesday afternoon shortly before six o'clock at her home on Fourth street. Her demise was due to a paralytic stroke. She had enjoyed good health up to the close of the year.
Mrs. Feile, nee Anna Amalia Edens, was born inNeunkirchen, Holstein, Germany, on Feb. 18, 1853. At the age of seven years, she came with her parents to America, settling in the village of New Holstein. Here she lived until the time of her marriage on Sept. 2, 1870, to Mathias Feile, when the couple moved to the farm now occupied by Gustave Grabs east of Kiel. This farm they occupied until 1905, when they moved to Kiel.
Ten children were born to the couple, three of whom preceded their mother in death. The surviving children are Mrs. Emma Anold, Mrs. Johanna Duecker, and Mrs. Ella Reineck, of this city; Rudolph Feile of Kiel; Robert of Reedsville; William of Philadelphia; and Henry, of Kewaunee. No sisters or brothers survive. Nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren remain.
For the past 15 years Mrs. Feile made a home for her granddaughter Elsie, who was made an orphan in her infancy. In 1929 Mr. and Mrs. Feile observed their golden wedding anniversary. The deceased was a charter member of the Kiel Frauenverein.
Funeral services, in charge of the Rev. Otto Saewert, will be held Saturday afternoon at hgalf past one at the Feile home, and at two o'clock at the Reformed church, with interment at the Rockville cemetery.
