Charles E. Adams DOVER- Charles E. Adams, 86, formerly of York, died Thursday, February 12, 2004, at the home of his daughter. He was husband of the late Velma E. (Zartman) Adams. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at John W Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Mr. Adams was born January 12, 1918, in New Oxford, a son of the late Emanuel and Mary (Weaver) Adams. He retired from Warren Shoes Inc. in Lancaster and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Wrightsville. Mr. Adams is survived by three daughters, Joan Marie Klinedinst of Newport News, VA, Shirley A. Laine of Leominster, MA, and Nancy Mohler of Dover; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by a grandson. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA Hospice, 218 E. Market St., York, PA 17403.
