Nellie Altum Miller, 71, of Flat, died Sept. 1 at her residence.
Memorial services were held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Scott's Funeral Home Chapel in Gatesville with the Rev. Rodney Kruse officiating.
Mrs. Miller was born April 17, 1929, in Brookhaven, the daughter of Dennis "Red" and Ruthie Lee Ingram Altum.
She attended school at Flat, and was employed as a nurses aide for several nursing homes, including Osage Care Center and Hillside Manor in Gatesville. She worked as an aide for many years until her retirement in 1990.
On Oct. 31, 1946, she married Allen Shelton.
She was a long-time resident of the Gatesville area, and had resided in Flat for the past seven years.
She married Bill Hill in 1963, and he preceded her in death in 1965.
In September 1970, she married Nelson (Dick) Miller and he preceded her in death in 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her father on Nov. 29, 1967; a brother, Doyle Altum, in 1991; and a granddaughter, Christi Hodges, in 1976.
She was a Baptist.
Survivors include her mother, Ruthie Lee Altum of Gatesville; four daughters, Peggy Pivowar, Betty Summers, Bonnie Lingo and Connie Hodges, all of Flat; three sons, Preston Shelton and Eddie Shelton, both of Gatesville, and Billy Shelton of Flat; two sisters, Ocie Evetts of Flat and Nancy Veach of Gatesville; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
