This is just my note to help someone do some research and what I have found to be true because of several decades of research.
A common practice during that time period to call females by nickname of Polly if they were named Mary. So the mother's name most likely is Mary.

Information provided by another findagrave contributor Dec. 2015:
After the death of Jonas R. Arnold, Jr. in 1863, Mary "Polly" (Gardner) Arnold married William Clinton Cavin on 19 Feb 1863 in Polk Co, MO (Book B, p. 110). She is buried as Mary "Polly" (Gardner) Cavin. I cannot say if this information is correct or not as I did not do any research on it.
