L T and I E Thurman and their families were called to Chattanooga by the
critical illness of their sister, Mrs Hester T Pitts, who was in a
Chattanooga hospital for several days. Mrs Pitts died early Monday morning.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Falling Water Cumberland
Presbyterian Church near Hixson. Burial was in the Pitts cemetery near
Falling Water.
Surviving are 3 daughters, 7 sons, 3 brothers, I E and Litton Thurman, who
live in Cumberland Cty, and S L Thurman, Buhl, Idaho; 29 grandchildren, 37
great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.
